Information Session on How Nonprofits Can Pursue Preservation Deals Based on Revised Chapter 40T

MACDC, in partnership with CEDAC and DHCD, is sponsoring an information session on how MACDC Members and other nonprofits can pursue preservation transactions, in light of the recent revisions to Chapter 40T regulations and guidance.  The training will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 9 a.m. to Noon in Asian CDC’s Community Room at The Metropolitan, 38 Oak Street in Boston, MA 02111.  Registration and networking will begin at 9, with the program starting at 9:30 a.m.

At the session, DHCD and CEDAC will provide an overview of Chapter 40T, an update on recent changes to regulations and guidance, and the process for becoming a designee.  The presenters will offer guidance on how nonprofits can become involved in acquiring preservation properties, whether through becoming a designee or through a negotiated sale with an owner.  Nonprofits with experience in preservation transactions will speak about their experiences.  There will be ample time for questions and discussion.

If you have contemplated pursuing a preservation transaction (or even if you haven’t until this precise moment) this session should equip you with information you can use to evaluate potential opportunities.

There is no charge to attend the session, but pre-registration is required.  If you would like to attend, please email Don Bianchi at donb@macdc.org.
