The Fund Announces 10th BSC Training Institute
Last month, CEDAC’s affiliate Children’s Investment Fund (the Fund) began planning for its 10th Building Stronger Centers (BSC) Training Institute. The training institute, which will be held in Beverly from May 21st to May 24th, is an intensive, week-long opportunity for early childhood education and out-of-school time providers across Massachusetts to learn about the facility development process. The Fund is committed to helping non-profit organizations develop high-quality facilities.
First introduced in 2002, BSC provides early learning providers with the resources they need to tackle large-scale facility improvement projects. Over 100 organizations serving 11,000 children have attended the training. Providers leave the training with the knowledge base and connections to advance their projects. The Fund continues to support providers with follow up trainings, technical assistance, and access to project financing. The training is sponsored by the Klarman Family Foundation.
The BSC Training Institute is an important resource to address the challenges that many providers face when planning to improve educational spaces. You can read more about the challenges facing providers interested in upgrading their facilities at CEDAC’s blog INSITES: The Challenges of Facility Improvement Projects, where the Fund’s Director of Children’s Facilities Finance, Theresa Jordan and Senior Project Manager, Bree Horwitz, offer a few lessons learned.
If you are a provider who would like to participate or for more information, please contact Theresa Jordan, Director of Children’s Facilities Finance at Children’s Investment Fund at 617-727-5944 or tjordan@childrensinvestmentfundma.org.
