Construction to Restore Affordable Housing Begins at Historic Warren Hall Building

Construction has officially begun at Warren Hall, a historic 1879 building at 329–337 Washington Street in Brighton. The project, a collaboration among ABCDC, Schochet, MassHousing, EOHLC, the Mayor’s Office of Housing, and CEDAC, will restore and preserve 35 affordable apartments and add two new ADA-compliant units in a walkable, transit-connected community.

CEDAC provided early-stage acquisition financing alongside MHIC to help get the project to the starting line in 2024. As Executive Director Ethan Handelman noted: “CEDAC’s acquisition financing was designed to help get this project to the starting line and ensure the people living there didn’t have to wait.”
